Get a taste of rural life at Hua Hin's new farm-slash-restaurant

“Farm-to-table” reaches new heights.

“Farm-to-table” doesn’t do justice to The Boutique Farmers, a 3,200-sq-meter farm-slash-restaurant lying just south of Hua Hin.

Set in a converted two-story house, the warm open dining area is decked out with long wooden tables and potted plants, where owners James and Wanwipha Noble serve up comfort dishes using crops harvested from their biodynamic farm. The focus here is on sustainable and organic farming, avoiding fuel-run machinery and chemicals.

The menu changes daily in line with fresh produce (mains from B300), showcasing rare ingredients like watermelon radishes, black tomatoes, white carrots and edible flowers, as well as hormone-free farmyard chicken and pork. Visit on Sundays to sample their wholesome all-you-can-eat brunch (10am-3pm, B800), when you can also take a tour of the farm and gardens.

If you want a real taste of rural life, you can spend a night in the homestay above the restaurant (B1,000/night including breakfast for two) and take part in daily farming activities.

The Boutique Farmers, Pak Nam Pran, 081-266-7800. Open Fri-Sat 7-10pm, Sun 10am-3pm
