Eco-friendly camp-slash-cafe Horm Glin Ya puts you right in the thick of Ayutthaya’s natural bounty, offering five camping tents—equipped with air-con and two floor mattresses each—set on elevated walkways in the rice paddies (from B1,200/night, with special barbeque dinner parties available Sat, Sun, holidays and by reservation).

If tenting isn’t your thing, you can still pop into the cafe for a coffee, take a stroll on the bamboo bridges or plonk down for a nap in one of the canalside hammocks.
